The Space Needle looks like something straight out of The Jetsons. The Space Needle (1961) was completed before The Jetsons (1962) aired though, so perhaps it’s a bit of art imitating life. Thinking about the show made me curious. Did the family, or George Jetson drink coffee? It seems like such a stereotypical family unit that coffee would play a role in George’s daily routine. I haven’t been able to find the answer yet. If you happen to know of a clip that shows it, let me know.

I can’t say that I’ll be making it to space, or low Earth orbit anytime soon, but if by chance I do I might be set. After 2-years of development, the ISSpresso (International Space Station espresso machine) was delivered earlier this year.  Apparently a machine that uses hot water under extreme pressure in a microgravity environment that doesn’t leak takes a little bit to develop. They even had to develop a contained cup and straw that wouldn’t leak, but would allow some coffee scent to be released when the straw is inserted. This is all sounding a bit fancy…like my siphon brew…perhaps I’ll have to get to LEO…It would make another way that I’ve tried coffee…
