Try as I might, I cannot seem to find a photo I have taken from outside of the Crocker Art Museum. I have a few from a work outing, but they are snapshots. You think I would have captured something creative from the 130-year-old museum! That is going to have to change, especially since I will have one of my photos on display there from May 16th-June 6th, 2015!
Thanks to some prodding by a co-worker, I submitted a piece to the 37th annual Crocker Art Auction and was accepted. This means that for almost a month I will have a picture up in one of the coolest museums.
Besides having my piece hang in the Crocker, there will be the chance to bid on a few smaller works during the Big Names, Small Art (BNSA) auction. All of these proceeds from all BNSA artists will go back into the Crocker to help fund educational programs. I’ll have three pieces up for auction at this event, and I’ll be there the whole time.
Tickets are $20 if you’re not a member of the Crocker or $10 if you are. I’d love to see any and all of you at the event. For more information about the BNSA and to get tickets, check out this link:
Crocker Art Museum – Big Names, Small Art
A not-to-be-missed art party for collectors and other aficionados, BNSA features Big Name artists. Each Small Art work measures 12×12 inches or less, and bidding starts at $25. Enjoy lively bidding in a festive atmosphere with music, a no-host bar, and gourmet food.

Ends: 05/21/2015 9:00PM
While you’re free to swing by whenever the Crocker is open to see my work, it all leads up to the main event as it were on June 6th. This is where the silent and live auction will occur. There are over 100 artists participating and I’m honored to be one of them.

Crocker Art Museum – Art Auction
One of the preeminent auctions of the region, this art-filled evening features works by more than 100 of the region’s most renowned artists. Enjoy a fabulous cocktail followed by a gourmet dinner and exciting live auction.
Starts: 06/06/2015 5:30PM
Ends: 06/06/2015 7:30PM
So, that’s the big news. I look forward to seeing all of you come check out my work, and that of all the other artists. If I find out you come down to the Crocker and don’t let me know, I’ll be a bit cross! I live less than 10 blocks from it!
Now…I need to get properly caffeinated to contemplate how I can creatively capture the Crocker.
