I’ve been at Sac State in one form or another for over 10 years. It’s closer to 15 years actually. I did their Academic Talent Search when I was in 7th or 8th grade. Essentially it allowed middle school kids to take college courses.
A few years later I ended up getting my bachelors there and rolled right into a masters program…which lead me to my current job at the College of Continuing Education (CCE).
The fun part is that CCE is gearing up for our Summer Academies courses for high school students. I get to take photos of them doing cool stuff like building and testing popsicle stick bridges, investigating mock crime scenes, and even putting on their own fashion show.
One of the things I hope the students get, besides some awesome educational opportunities, is a chance to check out the awesome campus that Sac State is. One morning I took it upon myself to finally go to a spot that I had been eyeing for some time as one that isn’t seen by many of the commuters. What are some of your favorite spots that you think are less well known?
